For Outdoor Enthusiasts and Beach Goers Greenwood Lake is the place where you can completely unwind, relax, and rejuvenate at your own pace, or be active all day. Enjoy the scenery on the beach or in the woods, savor quiet time or swim, read a book, fish, hunt, sail, enjoy a picnic, hike, bike, and enjoy the pleasures of the Greenwood community any day of the week.

During the summer season, Greenwood Lake is that place for swimming, small boat sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, rowing boats, and windsurfing. Kids play tag, build sand castles, spend hours on the swingsets, and play frisbee, kick a soccer ball around and everything else they can dream up.

On land, you only have to bring your sense of fun—we have the rest—to enjoy a game of sand volleyball, shuffleboard, horseshoes or corn hole.

Any season is ideal for walks, hikes and bird watching with frequent sightings of eagles, herons, kingfishers and ospreys. Look down and you’ll see turtles, frogs, salamanders. You might spot wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, and even an occasional red fox, coyote, or resident beaver; and there’s usually at least one family of black bears.

Outdoorsmen can indulge themselves here, too. For fishermen, the 110-acre lake is stocked every spring with a mix of rainbow brook and brown trout. Fish for trout, panfish, or bass that often weigh in at 4- to 6-pound category. To keep the lake water pristine, only electric trolling motors can be used.

For hunters, Greenwood has 500 acres of managed hardwoods surrounding the 1.25 mile by .25 mile lake. You’ll find deer, turkeys and ruffed grouse, as well as water fowl - wood ducks, mallards and Canada geese.
